Honorable United States Senate Candidates:
As you know, I am competing with you for the office of United States Senator from Michigan. All of you will be on the same ballot in the November 4th general election.
I believe voters deserve the opportunity to make a fully informed decision in this very important election. To that end, I invite ALL of you to join me in a truly NON-PARTISAN public debate.
It is my understanding that WGVU General Manager Mike Walenta has already planned a partisan campaign event to be broadcast on the public television station, WGVU Grand Rapids. He has selected two of you, Carl Levin and Jack Hoogendyk to participate.
For the benefit of Michigan’s voters, I urge each of you, to urge Mr. Walenta to change this campaign event into a truly non-partisan news event, and invite all of us to debate on his TV station.
If a non-partisan debate on WGVU is not possible, then I urge all of you to join me in a non-partisan debate on a TV station that is willing to host it.
Sincerely,
Scotty Boman
Libertarian for United States Senate
